Looking for someone local who maybe has a red ringed 360 or whatever that can sell me the dvd drive, or I can snag one off ebay.

Have a 360 where the drive is broken (just keeps opening and closing ), and im going to try to fix it.

They are hardware coded. The dvd drive is "locked" to the motherboard. There is a process that can extract the keys and you can flash the eprom of the new drive to work with your motherboard.

I also do mods, I have a metalliac black case with window, green lights, high output fan, and a see through dvd drive in mine curently

Doesnt Microsoft still have that warranty? Why not just send it back to them?

 

The xbox came from a friend who opened it and broke all the seals, and some of the plastic tabs to "see" what was inside. I don't think MS will take that back, lol.

 

The three year warranty is only good for RROD, everything else is one year.
