Cousin wants to buy a handgun;

I believe a 9mm if heard him right. He is living here in TX for now, might move back to VA, however, could he buy from someone in VA and have it shipped to TX...if yes, Bring on the guns.

+1, also, it is illegal in the state of virginia to purchase a gun for someone else if i am not mistaken. Not being a dick, just trying to give you fair warning. I was at a gun show and my g/f was going to pay for my gun as a present, we were both 21, and both able to pass the back ground check, but they wouldn't finish the transaction because of it, i had to use MY check card, gay, yes, but just a heads up.

 

if he is in tx and cant find a gun out there is something wrong. tx gun shows make ours look like a clearance shelf at 7-11

We'll hit up a gun show! Does he have to pass all the checks and stuff if he's going to buy from a gun show, or can he get his license later?

 

he can buy one from a dealer here and have it shipped to another dealer there and then he will do a background check

 

va doesnt have a license. all you have to do is pass a background check. basically no felonys and you can have a firearm. its same day as well. the only restriction is that you can only buy 1 handgun every 30 days unless you have a concealed carry permit then its an open market. If you buy from a gun show they will (in my experience) do a background check and you can take your new weapon home with you that day.
