I bought this TV brand new from Best Buy in November 2004. I have used this TV as my primary TV since then but I am upgrading to a flat screen. I have had absolutely no problems with this TV up until right before Christmas. I attempted to turn the TV on and nothing happened. I am a true believer of warranties and have kept a warranty on this TV since I bought it. I contacted Philips and setup a warranty issue with them. I contacted the company they use and had them come and pickup the TV. Later the same day the company called and said the TV was fixed and all that had to be fixed was a fuse. Has worked fine since then.

It's notorious for the fuse to blow at or around the 2yr mark.I bought the same kind around the same time and mine went out 2 years later. Fixed mine as well and no problems. Great TV.

 

The guy from the place that came and fixed it said that Philips has a technical service bulletin out on it because of so many having that little problem.

 

Yep. It's a $2.00 fuse. Fixed it myself and has worked now for about 4 years.
