not sure how much the monitor is, but you could build that same system with a quad core, faster ram for like $700 new now a days.

was gonna say the same thing. i was actually starting to add up the prices of the parts that i was gonna build a quad-core with. i might hit a grand total: AMD Phenom X4 9850 - retail: $235, Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe Motherboard - $220. then you have ram (100-200), burner (100), hd (100), case (75), keyboard and mouse (59), monitor (100-200) <--but, i already have one. that's everything (i think) off the top of my head, just put a good effort in to fit everything into it's appropriate spot and load software accordingly. this is brand new technology, you're talking about dual-core. just wanted to give you an idea of what's available out there. not trying to trash you or anything, cuz i've actually met you personally. anyway, i'll take this down if you like me to. and, GL with the sale and the whole DUI thing.

I think a 2.5ghz core2quad is gonig for like $289 on newegg now... 2.66ghz c2duo's are about $179. As far as memory, I just ordered (3) sets of 2gb ddr21066 for $59.99 a piece.

I'd put a c2duo 2.66 w/ ddr21066 against the 64x2 3.0ghz...

I think the original poster's setup would run around $600 new, used... you should be asking for $400. This is without software of course, but I doubt you're providing a legit (with cd key only been used on this computer) copy of anything, so in my opinion, it doesn't count. As far as the monitor, price it now, and try to sell it for 60% of what it's going for... electronics lose value as soon as you hit "order."

I don't give a shit what you spent or when you spent it because it's extremely irrelevant. What's relevant is, how much it costs right now, NEW, which is of higher value than your used stuff.

The good thing about vadriven: If you try to take advantage of people, you WILL be called out. We, the vadriven people, are the "reach-around."

Newegg.com prices
Athlon 64 x2 6000 $153.00 free shipping
4gb DDR2 PC2 5400 Ram $68.99 + 5.99 Shipping (not the best ram speed)
Seagate Barracuda 7200 Sata 3.0GB 500GB $99.99 free shipping
RadeonHD 2400 PRO 256mb $89.99 + $7.00 shipping (a joke of a video card for gaming, it sux)
Philips 20X DvD Burner $24.99 + $7.00 Shipping
HP w2207 22" LCD $329.99 + $21.51 Shipping (Most expensive of all yet not worth the money, better can be had for less)
Windows XP PRO 64bit $139.99 free shipping(legit ??)
Windows Vista Prem $99.99 Free shipping (legit ??)
Office 07 Enterprise, not available unless you purchase volume licensing (you dled it for free)

Grand total new with shipping = 1041.43
Take out questionable items that aren't legit = 801.45
A few changes and it can be a real gaming pc for much less than $800 new.

If you paid over $1300 recently to build this you must have been under the influence then when you bought this stuff or purchased brand new when everything first came out. Regardless, electronics loose value quick. Please post a reasonable price otherwise you're just waisting your time and thread space. Thanks for giving me something to do at work
