24x/10x/24x CD-RW/8x DVD combo drive
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition
has an internal bluetooth card, too!!
I bought this laptop back in June of 2006. It has served me well, but i have decided to sell my laptop to help cover some of my recent purchases and i haven't really used it lately except for messing around.
This laptop is great for using MS Office products and browsing the web with ultimate portability. I have used it to play day of defeat, counterstrike, world of warcraft and a few others. Being that i'm in the business of knowing how to fix computers, i took care of this one and it is in great working shape.
A few more options that came with the laptop include 4 usb 2.0 ports, 10/100 LAN port, pcmcia card reader, smart card reader, multi reader for memory cards (SD, Memory Stick, etc.)
There are some scratches from normal use/wear on the top and edges of the laptop, but nothing that impedes functionality. There are no scratches on the screen and all keyboard keys are there as can be seen in the pictures.
I will also be including a Gateway carrying case, a port replicator w/its own psu, and i also installed an internal bluetooth card within the past couple weeks. I will make sure all the devices have drivers, but as i am unable to find the original software disc, i will be unable to load any software that came with the computer originally. You should be able to order a disc from Gateway by giving them the serial number of the laptop.

back again!
bump...new price. just got done loading ubuntu on it and messing around. it's doing battery learning right now so that's why no display pics - it makes the white balance all screwy and the pic looks yellowish.
i'll reload windows and get more pics later today probably.
also will be including a port replicator, and i also installed an internal bluetooth 2.0 card just within the past couple weeks.
will trade for sig sauer p239 (.40 or .357sig) or iphone or possibly other items - post offers or what you have/want to trade.

i might end up installing vista business x86. i have a valid copy of several windows OS's because of school.
there's an issue with the sata drive and installing from an xp pro disc vs the gateway restore dvd. ubuntu and vista both work fine, tho. /sigh
edit: nevermind, got the right files from a part of the gateway site that hadn't come up with the laptops serial number (go figure). xp pro sp2 install is underway.
edit2: just got windows up and running..going to start winupdate and make sure everything is good there. installed avast antivirus, which is a highly recommended free antivirus software.

Found the gateway discs, so i'm going to reload the software from those...this way i don't have to use up a key for a windows installation that i have. (this one has an oem license, so it can only be used on this laptop from a gateway restore dvd only.)
will trade towards firearms or prelude junk or DSLR.
