WTT 4x4 Explorer for Wrangler
Well I've always been a fan of Jeeps thanks to my dad's love for CJ's, but I had never driven one until recently and I fell in love with it. I'm looking for a Wrangler '88?-'95, five-speed. I'm not expecting a clean perfect Jeep, just something good enough for a daily. Really like a soft top. Four cylinder would be great. I'm offering my Explorer to see if anybody would be interested in an even trade.
I have a black '95 Ford Explorer 4X4. Gray leather interior, buckets up front, HUD, JBL sound system (have a 12" Clarion wired to the stock amp right now, can put back to factory), 4.0L V6. Truck has 226,xxx miles but runs great. I know the miles are high, but NADA put this truck at $3,000 even with the miles and that was the lowest rating. Always well maintained, second owner, owned since '98, never thrown a code, I have never seen the Check Engine light on while running. Oil and filter changed every 3,000 miles. New plugs, wires and front brake pads not even a year ago. Daily driven, no rust, no major dents, a few small scratches and scuffs, some will buff out. It's not perfect, a few minor flaws considering its age and use, but it's a reliable ride and kickass on the beach.
Good:
-Starts and runs great
-New Battery 1/16/08
-New Air Filter 1/29/08
-Oil and Filter Change 12/12/07 at 225,015
-Trans is great, no slips or hard shifts.
-AC is cold, recently recharged, Heat will burn your ass up.
-Interior is very clean.
-Power antenna works great. Goes down fine when radio is turned off.
-Notorious faded pillars on the hatch window have recently been repainted black.
Bad:
-Horn works when it wants to (loose wire I think, common problem)
-Power lock on the hatch doesn't work, have to use the key. Has power, something is stripped I think.
-CD player is out, got jammed I have the cartridge out (in cosole, six disc changer)
**Possibly buying one to replace from the Explorer forums.
-Needs new tires, could use alignment.
-Could use a new lower valance. Current is cracked and zip-tied on.
-One ball joint squeaks, I greased it today hoping it will shut it up.
Mods:
-Clear corners/new headlights
-Tinted taillights
-Side-exit exhaust (no muffler, can have stock put back on)
-B&M Shift Improver
--The throttle cable had about 3/4" of slack in it so you had to push the pedal a ways before the truck moved. I fixed that with zip ties now it's really responsive, but wouldn't downshift as quick as I like so I bought the shift kit. It's electric and has two stages, switch is mounted on the dash.
-Removed roof racks. (still have them...)
-Removed pinstripe
-Bug deflector, I know they look dumb but it works great.
-Front windows tinted 50%, not dark at all.
-Stained plastic bumper trim
-Truck is wired for big bass, 4 guage power wire, platinum terminal, remote, ground, rca, everything is tucked and well hidden and comes out under the rear seat.
That's all I can think about right now. Great truck on and off the road. I have plenty more pics, just let me know if you want to see more.
***I have all stock parts to put back on if you want.

I've got a 1989 Wrangler with a 4.2L I6 and manual transmission. I'm almost done rebuilding the top end. It's been built up for off-roading.
I havent gotten it inspected yet, as I've spent some time rebuilding it.
Would you be interested? It comes with a lockable hard top and full metal locking doors.
