Do they make disc brakes to replace the pinion brake?

I'm sure they do, but I'm pretty sure it would be a lot of work, with no real noticable gains in braking performance (being a mud truck) Plus, pinon brakes are pimp IMO

what ya mean? the axles actually have huge drum brakes at all 4 corners (like 18 inch drums and about 4 or 5 inches wide) but don't have enough master cylinder to push em so swapping over to pinion brakes . . pretty much have to custom make everything

lol what am i gonna buy new? they don't make brackets for it . . one rotor i have is new just surface rust . . and why buy new 130 dollar calipers when ya can find some perfectly good ones laying around

well mocked the pinion brake up on the rear trying to figure out which was the best way to put the rotor on . . .looks like on the back side facing forward (over the yoke) and i won't have to space the caliper . . . and yes I need to trim the bottom and side of the brackets to be round and yes i know the caliper is on upside down (bleeders on the bottom) just grabed the one that was loose (could rotate the bracket to the passanger side which I think i probably will because would be closer to the brake line and wasn't thinking about that when i first but the bracket up there.. . .
also sorry for crappy pics . . . sun was going down and cell phone don't like that kinda pics lol

I just know that a lot of the rock guys do it. But yeah you're right, I know it would be overkill on a mud truck.

yeah drum brakes and master cylinder ain't enough to push it . . just gonna run the pinion brakes and take the drums off

back when i had the front apart will have to do it again to take the brakes off . . . (the axle u joint is just over 6 inches across . . for size comparison, think i measured the drums to be 17 inchs)

Are you taking the truck off of the road now? I was under the impression pinion brakes were illegal unless they came that way from the factory.
