Raising a... Car...
I asked a wile back about the tires, and I'm in line to get some soon, but I need an extra set of wheels for me to use while I drive on the road. (**Edit this came out wrong, I'm waiting to buy the new tires after I get a second set of wheels with are going to be shipped this week**)
I took the car home today and she almost got her bumper ripped clean off when we loaded her onto the trailer. So I'm sure I need to get her off the ground.
Whats the best way to raise a car over its normal clearance level oh say just under the standard hight of a ford pickup

He's got a 88 celica all-trac (awd turbo)
HOnestly coil-overs are best. but if you can't afford tires.... you def cant afford coil-overs for this thing... they arent cheap at all. (let alone any parts on that car, I owned one... it was rediculous) Also, keeping the correct alignment is going to be hard to get even close if you go more than an inch or two higher.
you could ad spring rubbers, but it will ride like shit... espec if the shocks/struts are stock/worn

Re: Raising a... Car...
I know its expensive... its a rare car, thats why I'm trying to treat it right.
I don't want it raised raised... its not a crawler LOL... and I can afford tires, I've got about 2 grand more for the car right now, I'm also in line to pick up a second one for parts (poor thing got t-boned). I've gotten mine running the way I want it too and after taking a spin in the storage lot its at right now, its just way too low for anything I'm planning if she comes down any lower from a lift off its going to rip the underside off.
my goal is to give it a little higher than stock suspension to get a little bit of extra clearance so that when it sits back down the underside doesn't scrape
and getting it on a trailer is wonderfull too I'm going to be spending a good long time with bondo and sandpaper on this bumper after transporting it

Don't use bondo for your plastic bumper, they make stuff for plastic bumpers that actually flexes with the bumper... instead of just falling off when a breeze hits it.
