Hey guys, I'm kind of new to this site. I just was wondering if anyone could help me out a little. My jeep is kinda old. 251,9XX miles. And my girlfriend needs something to get to school and stuff. I was looking into the Chevy 1500's. I just wanna know if they're good trucks, anyone have problems with them a lot? I know they use a lot of gas. She needs something to carry her pets around in. She's trying to get into vet stuff. And my Jeep's dieing and I wanted something to get my kayaks, boat, motors, car shit, and fishing stuff around in. I know it's not a big deal, but you know. So, I wanted to get a truck and get her like...a blazer. The ones that look like 2 door tahoe's. If anyone has experience with these trucks, could you help me out? Are they ok for a daily? I know they go through trannies. But everything does. Thanks for any help you guys could give me.

i have owned 3 of these. they are very reliable. um you already know the problems with the trannies but that does not usually come until 150k or so. fuel economy is not "too bad" my daily driver is a 90 gmc, regular cab, long bed 2 wheel drive, with 252k on it and it still gets me to work everyday. i am sure on this site people will tell you to buy something japanese or a ford but i think the C/K body style is a great truck.

 

My grandad gave me a 96 silverado 1500 extcab with over 150k on it and it runs good. Never had any major problems yet, my grandad drove it everyday. GM's 5.7L they had in the 1/2 ton pickups, suburbans, tahoes, w.e are great engines and are preaty reliable. Also if you are looking for a 2 door tahoe I have one I might be able to sell.
