Need some opinions on a 4x4 vehicle...
So, I got stuck in my own fucking yard the other day when it rained its ass off. Sure, I have a lowered integra, but that shit pissed me the fuck off. I couldnt drive my shit anywhere, and I felt more or less like a bitch. Ive come to the conclusion I need something 4x4, and perhaps lifted.
I have a few stipulations.
1. Im on a budget. No, I dont have a price, just help me.
2. I dont really want a toyota, I feel like those are for kids.
3. Fuck you.
4. Something relatively easy to modify / work on. Ive worked on honda's for like 6 years, its all I know.
With that being said, the only thing I can find within my requirements is the Samurai. Any other options?
Thanks in advance.

You're input is about as helpful as having Muhammed Ali as a Jenga partner.
What model? Years to look at? Any downsides?

The only reason Im having a tough time saying yes to an older toyota is that I see every 16-19 year old redneck fuck stick driving one.

If your interested in the Samurai, that would be my choice. Not only because I own one but because other than the price you might pay for one now, they are very affordable.
A Samurai is a good entry vehicle to grow in the sport with and off road with. With the aftermarket support out there now you can make it as calm or wild as you want it.
Very fun and interesting vehicle to own. If your good with a Honda, a Samurai shouldn't be a problem as far as mechanical things go.
I honestly love my Samurai! I've had everything from a 78 Jeep Cherokee on 40" tires to a Tacoma on 35-33" tires ( the one Boost Happy has now) to a 89 Blazer on 40"TSLs. The Samurai owns hands down. Where it lacks on street power it totally makes up for it on the trails! With a spring over lift and some engine mods and some decent tires, you would be surprised how fun they are and how far you can take it!

Honestly, the only thing I would be using it for is the beach, the occasional urge run over something, and not getting stuck places. I'd sort of like a project, everything out there now has been painted and done up already. I want to do all this myself. I dont like buying other peoples "supped up" shit. Ive always ran into problems like that.
edit: Thank you for the most informative post yet.

No problem! Have you thought about a full size Blazer or Bronco? ( I would chose the Blazer) They can also be affordable and easy to work on. If you ever wanted to drive over something it would totally do it. I drove over a car with my Blazer. Hahaha!
