Need some help
i have a 1987 GMC jimmy (fullsize) that has a 4in lift and 35's. My plan is to get 6in lift springs and put on 4in blocks on the back (making a total lift of 10in), and in the front put 8in lift springs with a 2in shakles (making a total lift of 10in). I plan on getting a set of 38/16/15 boggers.
my questions are:
1) what width rim should i get for a tire this size?
2) will the stock 1/2 ton axles hold up?
3) what gears should I run?
4) I far will i be past legal limit for height?
5) will the angle be to big for the stock drive shafts?
also any sites on where to get stuff.
thanks

The only thing im sure of is that your 1/2 ton axels more than likely wouldnt last very long. I have 35x13.5r18s on my silverado and I blew a rear end after about 15k miles. I tow on ocasion (maybe once a month, dual axel trailer) so that would have contributed a little bit. You would probly be alright with a re-gear, im not sure.

rim with . . 10 - 12 i'd say
probably not to 38 boggers with any power . . . boggers take alot of motor and put alot of strain on the axles
what gears? what tranny? probably 4.88's
how far past the legal limit . . probably at 7-8 inches or so . . . but considereing the jimmy is not conidered a truck then your technically have to fall under car which is 22 . . but they usually go by the 29 front 30 rear
5 already been ansered .. . length problem and front might have to run a double CV driveshaft cuz of the angle

on my blazer i had 12"s lift total total with a 17" rim on 39.5 TSL iroks the stock axels should hold up fine for street use but you should probably switch to a dana 60 later on. and porbably use a 4.56 gear, and yeah your gonna be past the legal limit but if you get weighted truck tags you shouldnt be messed with to much depending on where you live. and the stock drive shaft is probably not gonna work

don't do it.
