Default Jeep Steering wheel play....

Okay so my steering wheel has maybe too much play... Its pretty much impossible to keep her straight on the street... How can i correct this?

Should i take this too a shop?

Also brakes suck balls...

You can tighten the steering box, but be careful doing that, too much tightening can cause it to bind.

Google - Loose jeep steering.... youll find tons of info.

What he said, it will take about 1 minute to do. Also get somebody to turn the wheel back and fort while you are under it and look for any worn/loose parts.

before you go tightening the box you needa find out if that is the problem . . . . get someone inside to wiggle the free travel and go out and look to see what is moving and what is not . . if the pitman arm on the box is moving but nothing else is ya needa look into the drag link . .if nothing is moving then it's the box . .there should be and adjust ment on it but go slow . it has a wrench with a screw driver slot in the middle of it again have someone wiggle the steering will loosin the nut and screw in the screw driver till the free travel starts to go away then lock the nut back down . . .
