Re: Any Explorer Owners?
Well not much as far as 4X4 stuff goes. Custom intake, side-exit exhaust, B&M shift kit, Bosch +2 platinum plugs...modded throttle cable (long story...), tinted taillights, clear corner headlights, monotoned trim, removed pinstripe, tint, air/fuel ratio guage, system...
I want to get a package of 31x10.50 BFG Mud Terrains on some black 15" steel wheels...and a pair of limited slip diffs...more stuff here and there. But even with the open diffs and Goodyear Wrangler AT/S's it does pretty good in the mud and it kicks ass in sand. I can't wait til after prom next month when I take it out on Oregon Inlet for the first time in like 8 years...

I have a 2000 Explorer with 70k on it. I have a damn check ingine light for a vaccume leak and when it rains it leaks like a bitch from the passenger side. I heard that model has a problem with the sunroof leaking.

Re: Any Explorer Owners?
Why 31x10.5? my truck came from the factory with 31's and it was tiny. Lift it and throw some nice 35's or somthing on it, it will look sick. I have a friend with a mountaineer on 33's (jacked up torsion bars) and it looks nice and clean. Get the diffs later.

trucks are diff with tires, 33s on a truck look small, 33s on a small SUV look HUge. And i wouldnt forget the diffs, a locked rig on 31s can outwheel a truck on 35s with open diffs anyday. And forget mud and sand, you wanna do some real wheelin, let me know ill take ya with my club camping up in the mountains, some of the stuff up there will make ur balls climb back up
oh and if your looking into LSDs detroit truetracs are awesome i ran one in the rear for a while, its gear driven not clutch so no special additives are needed in the fluid and they dont wear out. with some play on the brakes you can easily lock it up, great units

Re: Any Explorer Owners?
Well the Explorer is my daily driver. I just want slightly bigger tires for when I do go mudding, but I rarely go off roading, so I'm going to keep it as it is for now. Keep the driveability of it too. If I did lift it, I'd probably just do a torstion twist and spring over. Nothing too big. But yeah just want something a little bigger for now.
lol the mountain comment, yeah forget that. My truck wouldn't even make it TO the trail, let alone THROUGH it. I love the mountains, we vacation near the NC/TN line during the summer.
Somebody said get a Chevy? not me lol
