Re: 97 explorer awd 5.0 help
my friend has a 97 mountaineer awd. He just put 32s on there with a 3 inch body lift. The front still needs a little bit more clearance when he turns offroading. Hope this kinda helps!

by cranking the tortion bar how much clearance/lift do you think that will give ?
maybe 2/3 in in the front? but wont doing that cause more body roll?

i have 6 inches on my full size blazer and with 35's i had to crank the tortion bars..i dont know exactly how much it gave me but that was the difference from rubbing on any turn and now rubbing only on rough turns...i mean with any lifted vehicle you are going to have body roll...but the tortion bars wont effect if that much...

The guy at high dust told my buddy to not mess with the torsion bars on his 97. He said they were not strong enough to mess with to put torsion keys on it. Yall had a problem?

Re: 97 explorer awd 5.0 help
I used a 3in body lift for a ranger as well as a set of shackles and cranking the torsion bars up 2", i went with a 15x10 wheel so i had to do a bit of triming, if you use an 8in wide wheel you wont have to trim as much, i did it my self but i work at High Tech in chantilly so i have expirence, also the front and rear bumper brackets had to be custom made, is a 10 - 12 hour job easily, the torsion bars are plenty strong and they are made adjustable for a reason. you do not need torsion keys. if you have any questions just let me know.
