yes it is a good idea.
i had to put a step on the drivers door of the new truck. i was putting my knee on the carpet/plastic ribbed trim and hoisting myself up by the steering wheel. i got a huge ass bruise. i guess my knee cant support all my fluffiness.
now i need to put the other 3 steps on

theres nowhere else to grab. having the step doesnt make me pull as much on it. and i do pull up onto the door then push off also. its not all on the poor wheel

I used to do it also when I had my Blazer, until the steering column broke and I landed on my ass and had busted steering afterwards. Sucked bad.
