1982 Ford F150 Wheel Bearing ???
How hard is it to swap wheel bearings on an older (1982) F150 4x4? I bought a truck for a steal, but the left front bearings are shot so it can't be driven, and it's 80 miles from home
I assume that the hub screws come out, then the cap and hub gears, and then the hub nut with a special socket, take off the brake caliper and then the rotor / hub assembly and bearings come off.
Anyone have any info on this? HELP PLEASE!

And if they are melted? They were clunking and the wheel is leaning now that it's off the road. I think the rollers came apart
pray . . and sounds like it could be busted and melted . . . if it's melted gonna have to cut, heat, beat it off . . or go to the junk yard and pull a new spindle and slap it on . .
All the more reason to get it dragged back to Richmond. The "what if" factor on this one could get very involved and / or interesting, and that usually means expen$ive. I pray that I am able to get it hauled back here later today (Sunday) so that I can take my time and get it apart and then have the time to come up with whatever it needs and then the time to put it back together.

If it was 20 miles, I'd be willing to mess with it on the side of the road, but an hour and a half away is too far to run back and forth with tools and parts. On top of that who knows where I can get parts around there, it's like no mans land, lol.
lol yeah . . . I use to live out in glouscester . . . before it even had a walmart . . lol
