Sorry I'll never make that mistake ever again. I was just copying off of streetracer69 anyway.

Bimmer is not built for this kind of race. The M's series are the closest for being a street and 1/4 mile racer. Even that, the M's must have added so many things to be able to compete. Audi isn't that much better than Bimmer in terms of street and 1/4 mile races. Given that this particular Audi is a 4WD and 2.8, it should have a little bit of advantage over the 325i. The E36 M3 should be able to take it. The new E46 M3 will be able to beat it, no problem.

Um lol, speak english.
Are you saying the 3 series wasn't designed to handle well? Hmmm.. OK. What do you mean by "they must have added so many things to be able to compete"?
The M is based on the 328 chassis.. which is the same as the 325. They all have well tuned suspension and good weight distribution, the 325 should weigh a LOT LESS than the Audi also, which matters a lot on a course.

Um, why did you even bring up the E46 M3? 1996 AUDI.. NOT the new chassis or engine/AWD system. The E46 M3 competes with 911 Turbos on the track..

An E36 M3 would totally RAPE a 1996 A6 2.8 for a million reasons. Power, suspension, weight, weight distribution, brakes, etc etc etc.. A NEW m3 would be slaughter.

I was more concentrated on a 1/4 mile type race. Sure, BMW is superior to everyone else in terms of handling. But on a 1/4 type, i wouldn't bet on it. When i said they have to add more things, i was also concentrated more on a 1/4 mile. Sorry if i wasn't so clear and my english wasn't so good. I'm just an Asian dude trying to get my education here in US. =)

I'll be the first to admit that BMWs were not designed for 1/4 fun haha. I've never thrown mine on the track but it should break into the 13s which isn't too bad for chip/exhaust.

Bottom line, both those cars are going to be slow. The Audi is a lot heavier.. traction is not going to be a problem for a lower HP rear wheel drive car, so AWD is a disadvantage for the Audi (a lot more transmission power loss.) The audi is also most likely an auto if it's an A6.
Given that info I'd put my bet on the 3 series in the 1/4.

(by the way, both are automatic)

I think my Dominos pizza delivery guy would win out this bunch. Why do people spend good money on modding slushbox transmission cars, I dunno

Bimmer is really good on a highway. It's fun to drive and handling is like no others (in its class.) It's a give and take for having a Bimmer. If i had the money, E46 M3 would be the best fit for track, street race and 1/4.
