That sux about herndon high school. When I graduated in 99 we didn't have much of a problem with gangs in the school. Shit park ave used to be me and my friends stomping ground. Herndon has changed a lot for the worse and it will keep going in that direction. I hate driving threw Herndon now it is not the same.

actually, I think the problem with Nova is not that we have a lot of gang activity.. we really don't have much. It's the wannabe gangsters that are the problem.. they are almost worse than gang members.. gangs have an agenda they carry out.. you can stay out of their way for the most part, it's mostly their business.. the wannabes do it for attention and will cause a lot more trouble involving innocent people. They just want to pretend to be some badass gangsta yo and for people to be afraid of them.

Hopefully both of the gangs end up killing each other.

What the local government needs to do is send officers to each gang member's home and put a bullet between the eyes of each member.

Fuck gangsters. They think they're hard as shit, yet they can't even use bare fists to protect themselves. Pussies, all of them.

Let's see them shoot up the wrong house, when a bunch of rednecks with 12 guages aren't scared to chase down the illegal pussies.

I think it's ridiculous that you even compare the gang violence in northern Virginia to the actual war that is being fought in the Middle East. The U.S. has good reason to involve itself in the war, and if you are so offended to be paying a little more money for gas in exchange for your safety and freedom, why don't you write a fucking letter to your Senator bitching about it. My only suggestion is that you actually establish a point and ease up on the ignorance, much unlike you did starting this thread.

Wait wait...did someone just say Yonkers was dangerous? I mean, I live in the Bronx during the school year, and the South Bronx might be dangerous, but from what i've seen Yonkers is fairly safe.
Regardless, I dont think it is fair to compare the war abroad to domestic gang violence. They're completely different things, its like comparing "apples to oranges." All I have to say is that gang violence ruins areas and destroys lives, but more police attention isn't the solution. Gang violence stems from poverty and other socio-economic situations that put people in places where they can justify killing and maiming other people "just to get by." Putting more cops in the ghettos of america would just repress the culture instead of fixing the problems that cause it.

And of coarse, this begs the question: Are we really defending our freedom by fighting a war in Iraq?

I don't feel that we're any safer for fighting Iraqis... in fact, it makes me feel less safe considering it's only making more enemies for ourselves when we kill their family members accidently. I understand the movement there is for a noble cause, but I don't like this twist that it's to insure we're safe at home and from our rights being stripped away from us.

Right now, I'm a lot more concerned about the local gangs rising up and appearing in more public places than they're at already. Kids are so bored in our area because it's so wealthy and they've got so much entertainment around them that it just gets old and they have to turn to violence/street life for fun. It's all just a game to them inside, really. The parents are the true blame. Parents these days just don't know what they're doing and think it isn't their job to be the major influence in their children's lives anyways, and that it's up to society (AKA everyone else but them) to raise them. Put in place some fines for parents that raise gang bangers and I'm sure we'll see a decline in gang activity.
