Default Thinking about buying a new car.

So I have been considering buying a new car in the near future. I currently have a 2003 VW Jetta with 71,xxx miles on it. I am getting sick of this car cause I have had it for over 4 years, and once the warranty went out at 50,ooo miles, there has been nothing but problems with the car.

I am thinking about taking my car to Carmax this weekend and seeing what they will offer me for it. The only thing about that is, I know they tend to frown upon cars with mods, so I am kinda hesitant to take it there. The car only has exhaust, intake, and it is lowered. Does anyone know of any place in the NOVA area that will buy cars from you and actually over a good amount, im really not trying to get raped here, and I am only going to a dealership to see what they will offer me so I can get rid of it quickly.

Any suggestions??

Do you have the stock suspension you can put back on it? They REALLY frown upon altered suspension. They offered us at least $2000 less just because our car was lowered.

Unfortunately I dont have the stock suspension, but on the other hand, it really isnt "that" low. Its basically "sport" suspension that is offered directly from VW.

Go on vortex and part it out... Trade for stock suspension + cash... simple as that. You could also get a stock air box and all too...

VW exhausts are slip on right? so that makes the exhaust pretty hard to do... You could probably just leave that... wouldn't be to bad.

I have the airbox, so that wouldnt be a problem, and I really dont think the suspension will be a problem. I feel like the biggest issue will be the exhaust, but I am really not trying to put my stock exhaust back on. Maybe carmax will just happen to offer me what I want, that would be nice.

part the aftermarket stuff out. Whats done to the car exactly? A friend of mine has a 03 GLI VR6.

And sell as stock. You will get more money out of the car that way.

Only if what you want is the black book value(wholesale). Great place to sell a car fast tho. To get the most out of the car would be selling it privately. If you got time in selling it, best place would be autotrader.

Yeah, I do have time, and im not super pressed to sell the vehicle, I just found the exact car that I want that is a good deal so I really dont want it to sell before I sell mine, but im not trying to get screwed at the same time, so I guess my best bet in the long run is to get the most I can out of mine first off.
