Default Shops in NOVA?

I am wondering if there are any good shops in the NOVA area. Like custom audio, mobile theater, rim and tire packages, tuning. The works. I have only been able to find two online. Sound Solutions in Chantilly and some place in Falls Church. Just wondering if you guys know of any good shops around the area besides Best Buy and Circuit City.

What vehicle are you looking to tune?? As for tires and rims, go get what you want online, and then go get them mounted and installed at a reputable place. For sound systems, you should be alright at any location that has MECP techs working on the vehicles. If your looking to do something extreme (not just a simple speaker/headunit swap), then you may want to expand your search into MD as well as NOVA.

I am not looking to do anything specific. I am actually thinking about opening my own shop. I grew up on the west coast and there are a million and one shops out there. I havent really seen much marketing for any car audio/tuner shops. I have a buddy back west that is the man with car audio. Was thinking about opening a shop here and then expand into tuning etc. Just the one stop shop.

Good luck with that. You may find the market is already saturated with good tuning shops. Evolution, Ultimate, Inline Pro, Altered Atmosphere Motorsports, Nu Image, Excessive Motorsports, TurboXS, Trick Trucks, Pro Trucks, and more all have shops in the NOVA/DC area. The shops that I have mentioned do have a great reputation (especially Evolution, Ultimate, Inline Pro, Pro Trucks, and Altered Atmosphere). There are many more "tuner" shops that do not have such a great reputation, but regardless combined they do form more competition.

Point is, if your West Coast audio guy is the man, and you really want to open up shop here, your gonna have to really prove yourself b/c the competition is TOUGH and ESTABLISHED.

By the way, the shops are marketed by the show cars they make that tour the show circuit, in addition to word of mouth (which is the strongest and cheapest form of marketing that there is).

its going to be tough to open a one stop shop for car tuning unless you have alot of capital behind you. It also depends on what kind of tuning shop you want to open up. Do you want to go for the simple bolt ons or get into the really dedicated stuff? If you are going after the cars like Supras, VR4s, 300ZXs, and RX7s you are going to have a tough time because we have some really great shops around here that know those cars and can do almost anything with them

Where is a GOOD 300zx Shop? LoL... please dont say Datsun dynamic's either... way to over priced. VR4's you have altered atmosphere and for 350z's as well.. now for rx-7 you have peter farrels or how ever you spell it. Supra's have a few good shops around here but best ones are in florida if you ask me..

RX7s:
Performance Buyers Club: Chantilly
RP Performance: Manassas Park
Peter Farrell Supercars: No longer works on 7s but I hear that the old shop in manassas might continue it. PFC is moving to Frederick MD and going to be focusing on the IS300.
