Default The Shitbox Classic

So I want to do a rally, but:

-I'm not baller enough for Gumball
-I'm not man enough for BABE
-I'm not uppity enough for a legit vintage rally

This is BABE, in case anyone is unfamiliar:

http://www.streetsafari.com/streetsa...sy-babe-rally/

The idea is rally from NY to New Orleans in $500 cars. This is a long drive though, and requires I take time off, which I don't want to do. I also don't think I could find anything even running in DC for $500, and I don't really want to buy a car just for a rally.

I DO already own a dumpy-but-reliable 4spd Mercedes 240D though, and I'm itching to take it on interesting drives. I'd like to try to put together a single-overnight weekend rally, staring and ending in DC, through the Shenandoah Valley and West Virginia, wherein people will run $2k-and-under cars they already own. This would involve stopping at shitty bars, good roadside food spots, and hopefully camping for the one overnight.

Ideally people would bring oddball/interesting cars, but no one would get turned away for showing up in a $2k EF Civic or something, more the merrier. Bonus points for anyone who installs mudflaps and huge driving lights.

Leave on a Saturday morning, get back on Sunday night. Work some kind of competition into it, but probably not a proper race. Driver & Co-Driver in each car, etc.

Sound dumb or promising?

that car is long gone. I paid like 1800 for it cleaned it up fixed a couple vaccum leaks and sold it for like 5000 had about 80k on it. only benz i have now is a 93 300E that im trying to get back on the road. the car i plan on using for the shitbox classic is my 85 civic i also have an 87 toyota pick up both are very clean cars. i'v always wanted to do some sort of weekend rally with shitty old cars.

actually sounds pretty fun.

However, I do not want to buy a shit box car due to the fact I would ahve no reason for it after this was over....

SO could I use one of my other cars I already have? Like my Type R?
