NOVA's best shops
As far as best shops go, it's kinda hard to decide. My comments are my own from experience and that's all because i've been to most shops in the area.
As most know, inline built my motor for the car. The motor has been through hell and back and has stayed in one piece. I was charged probably three times more than I would of been at any other place and i've since moved onto another shop, but i'm more than happy with my motor and the power it's made.
Vertex was a decent shop when i used to go there. Alvin and Steve were always very helpful. They did my turbo sohc and I was very pleased with it. I think they were best known for cosmetics and bolt-ons more than serious mods, but are now getting ready to step into a whole new line up including motor builds and bigger turbo setups.
Evolution Autosports- The prices I got just for installing a 5 point harness were enough to turn me away. All you do is drill 3 holes in the floor board and your done and they wanted almost 200 dollars. Needless to say, I did that myself and it works just fine.
Quality tire is a good shop for rims and such, Kevin Inge knows his stuff, so that doesn't hurt having him there. But I've never had any performance stuff installed, but he does a mean mount and balance
I'm now at Nu Image, they have definitely treated me the best out of all the shops i've gone to. The customer service was great even before I became friends with many people from the shop. Over there it's more like a family than just coming and spending money and having them do the work. We all go out and chill, travel to races together and hit the streets together. Norris, Kevin and Eddie all know thier parts of the business very well and work to keep people happy. They have helped me out many times after hours, on Sundays and even during peak business hours. There prices are reasonable and the work is excellent. I listened to all the horror stories about them too, but since going there I've found it just to be rumors and b.s. Nu Image gets my vote.
