You need to worry about Emissions Inspection, not Safety. You will pass Safety fine if your car doesn't have broken parts on it. As for Emissions, when they look underneath and don't see a Cat there, you will fail the visual.

Due to recent threads I will make this warning to you now. Sorry if I come off like a prick typing this, but threads containing the following need to stop appearing on this site. If you post a "Can anybody hook me up with an inspection or tell me where they are lax on smog checks so I don't have to swap my test pipe?" I will ban you. Asking for such things is illegal and nobody will risk their connections (if they have any) to help a stranger out anyways.

However, if you have any other questions about State Inspections, please feel free to post them up.

Make sure your break pads are not half worn. They will check for cat. Cel, mirrors, rear view, gas cap, ebrake, and that's about it. Unless he's careless they usually will call you out on a cat less system.

then why the fuck did you ask about it. just about any gas station with a garage does inspections and if you weren't looking for a "hook up", not like any of us would share ours with a random person, then you obviously thought it would pass...................
damned 06'ers.

I have never had an inspector check for a cat on any of my cars for the safety inspection.

Most gas stations usually just jack up your car pop the tires check breaks, gas cap, cel, tire tread seat belts, side mirrors, head lights. Actually make that all exterior lights.

I know.....

93 240Sx pass Va inspection and Emissions with SR20DET @ 14.5 psi 3" exhaust 2.5" I.C. Front mount. No serious mods...

The Legal way no hacks, scape goats, or cheating.
