Default New tint law?

My brother has a friend who is in training to become an officer. He mentioned to my brother that they were trying to pass a new tint law in our area.

1st offence: Ticket and warning
2nd offence: you MUST pay to have a tint shop remove your existing tint from your windows...

Anyone else heard anything about this? Personally it think its compltete shit. I will gladly peel off my tint if they would reduce the theft rates around here.

Best advice is to go to the eye doctor and get a letter/note showing you have Sun allergies. Then your windows can be as dark as you want on anything you own.

BTW I heard nothing of any new law. I just read an article in the Potomac News last week about PWC cracking down on VA's opinion of over tinted windows.

no it burns your eyes when you drive so you can have "sunshade" to block it from doing just that.

I'm going to look into the laws about this.. I don't know about the sun allergy thing.. they might just tell you to wear prescription sun-glasses.

Its called "lupis" and i doubt any damn doctor (unless related, and even then) would just hand out a note.

That sounds like the way the law is now. I had a state trooper hand me a scraper when i was 16. I had 5% on every window of my 73 super beetle though (windshield as well). That asshole patiently waited while i scraped it off my front windows, then gave me a ticket for the back.

fukem.

I agree, no doctor will partake in that. My brother bought a 91 M5 from a lady with Lupis. She couldn't be in the sun for no longer than a minute before her skin started developing this rash. She had the windows tinted 5% all the way around on a black M5, it was so badass......too bad we had to peel it off.

I've also been in a car where the cop made us peel the tint off on the spot, it sucked.

You guys are to quick to say shit. I've had the sunshadding thing on my registration for years. It allows 35% all the way around, and 5 inch on the front window instead of 3 at 35% OR the whole front window at 70%.

So, in Va. thay cant test the rear, so mine is 5%. My sides are 35% and my front was I think 40-50% All in all pretty dark! And legal!

And BTW it's not an allergy its light sensitivity. A common eye problem.

I told my eye doctor that at night (which is true) that all lights look like high beams to me when there is no overhead lights on the road, and I loose the line on the road because of it for a second or two. During a really bright day, if the sun is behind me, I cant see the traffic light. They all look the same...off when the sun is right, and there is no clouds. Everybody has these problems. He checked me for colour blindness and thats it. Then he wrote up the DMV for for me, I turned it in and done. New registration.
