A new Potomac Mills is comming
I was on wikipedia today killing time and I found this. i had no idea. Its gonna add some more traffic to an already congested area.
In the second quarter of 2008, The Mills (acquired in 2007 by Simon Property Group[2]) and Lerner Enterprises will open an upscale shopping center known as the Potomac Town Center. It will be located at the southern end of Woodbridge, across I-95 from Potomac Mills between Dale Boulevard and Opitz Boulevard. The Potomac Town Center will feature 650,000 square feet (60,000 m²) of retail in an "open-air lifestyle" town center anchored by a Macy's department store, a Wegman's gourmet food market[3]. and a major bookstore (Barnes & Noble). The project also will include high-end restaurants (Costal Flats, Essential Grille, Cosi), 500,000 square feet (50,000 m²) of office space, 500 residential units and an 8- or 9-story hotel.

Yea def old news. Ive been seeing it off 95 for months now, and my fiance has been chattering about it for years now. Shes really into shopping and stuff. I cant wait, fuck going to tysons corner with traffic now a days.
hmm, any news on springfield mall? i hear tysons bought it out or something. then i remember seeing a "future" design layout of what the changes were in springfield mall, suppose to be another town center.
Frankly I think they should bulldoze it and start fresh. They need better metro police/mall security to start off with and to get rid of those "trendy" stores that seem like a shitty flee market.
As far as the Mills project, I'm really curious to see what happens with the really shitty Rt.1 area following the opening of the new "shopping center."

I read they're going to be re-doing the roof in early 2008, gutting the inside in early 09' and working on the outside all before the end of 2010.
