Maybe not a full rebuild, but replacing a worn syncro(grinds going into first). Any reccomendations on a shop in the NOVA area, or if anyone here is a transmission tech.

Its a 5spd getrag(rwd) and can drop the trans if that make it easier.

what car is it for? bmw? why not just find a used transmission somewhere?

 

Its for a volvo, but only came on the european models. Shipping one now adays cost nearly as much as the transmission itself.

I can do it if you have the parts. If its just bench work I will charge $250 labor, that include diag. of what you need. and re-sealing the trans. I have rebuilt 15+ S2000, k20a, and 6sp accord trans as well as a getrag 6sp v160 out of a supra. LMK.

 

oh, BTW, just ordering sycro's it difficult for most car manufacturers, usually you can only purchase them as a gear set. I have seen just two gear sets go over $700 before.
