Edit: yes that was dick-ish....but after reading 8 pages and 9 days worth of bullshitting around ... i got aggrivated.

I know the guy and he has kids and a girl and is not at all the type of person to make this shit up or be a stalker.
You really do need to file the report ASAP though.
anything ever come about the friend? did you contact the friend's family? You say it was her car though that was found abandoned on the road? may want to go back and look over that area off the road if its in teh middle of nothin just to be sure the worst isn't there.
They could have been like some of those people who jsut skip town and take a vacation without tellin too, dunno.
