You say it sucks to be targets for thieves, cops obviously already don't care about your situation, they already hate the fact that you modify these cars to race or create attention, so you will never get any sympathy from them. But seriously, if you don't want your shit to get stolen don't be a prime target with a hot item car where it can be stripped and can sold for fast cash. I would never modify a car ever again unless I have a garage where it can be safe and only bring it out occasionally. You make it your daily driver, you become a target, your shit will get jacked.

You say it like it is our fault people are low life scum that can't work to buy their own shit.

I don't think hes saying that. What I think he means is that if you turn something into an attention grabber, be prepared for the downside of grabbing attention from the wrong types of people.

The unfortunate fact of the matter is that honesty and ethics are a very rare thing to find in this day and age anymore, almost regardless of where you go. If someone can get ahead by screwing someone else over, and not get penalized for it, it will happen.

You can't even be safe in your own garage. I had a friend that went to NYC with a mint 99 hatch. Really nice car and done right. He was known up there at the local tracks for having a fast street import.

He stayed at a relatives house, parked his hatch in the garage and then had another car in front of that.

The thieves moved the first car just to get to his and drove off with it. Not to mention this house had a fence and gate that was locked but the garage door what shut.

Woke up the next morning and the car was gone. Found it on the streets sitting on blocks totally stripped.

lol it would be funny if you accidently left your keys in the car, locked, and you try to open the door and blow yourself up lol

Also like you said, "He was well known for having a fast import" that already gives it away to thieves. They're looking for hot cars that has hot mods on it. If you're well known for it, don't expect it to last long in your own possession. They went out of their to way to get this "well known import car" my suggestion keep your shit on the DL. When I had my type R, i rarely told people what I had under the hood.
