Default Garaging a car in a different county/city

Anybody know all the information or how hard it is to garage your car somewhere else? Such as how much hassle DMV will give me or what information I will need? Haven't gone to DMV yet so I guess this is a n00b question, but I know some people have been through this process already.

It's very easy. I don't think you even have to go to DMV to do it. I know u can do it when u renew your registration, there is a line on the form that asks where the vehicle is garaged. You can probably go online and do it too. They are trying to keep people out of the dmvs so they give people discounts who do there stuff online.

If you go to dmv, I know when i bought my the car I have now I just checked on the back of the title that it was garaged in blank city/town of or county and that was all I had to do. No actual address was needed, just had to do that. Other than that like above posted said, just do it when you renew your registration.

I was asked a few general questions, and they asked me to show proof.

I said I didn't have any, and she finished the transaction anyway. But that could have been because of my rugged good looks.

Just be prepared to pay the property tax/fee from the city in which you're "garaging" your car. Small price to pay though.

you dont have too and we don't have too. It's only if you want to register your car in one county but have in garaged in another county or city as it's i guess secondary location like a weekend house or something.

I believe you can do this online, dmvnow.com

All I did was have some sort of mail go to that address and that was enough proof for them.
