Ok I was just curious. I thought it was a smart idea and wondered how extensively he went into it.

 

It's pretty basic to install. You can hook up multiple ones fairly easy. Cost is probably in relation to video quality. I doubt he spent more than $150 total.

 

Completely worth it obviously.

 

oh yeah, cost is totally justified. I want to install some just to protect the investment we have in our basement. We have a small fortune just in computer equipment. I'll probably hook something up this summer.

 

Probably a good idea. Just as a precaution or because you've had a break in before? I know if I was in EEK's position (getting a vehicle stolen) I'd be pretty paranoid about my next car. (My car is my baby, that would just be too painful. haha)

 

Just as a precaution; and because my roommate came home one day and the door down there was mysteriously hanging open. Mighta just been the ghosts; but I'm not taking any chances. My computer stuff alone costs close to $6000. My roommate has 5 or 6 computers running down there too. Plus I need to put a camera on the front door so I can see if people come over while I'm in the basement. Can't hear the doorbell down there.

I installed a triggered explosive in one of my rack mounted computer cases. Yeah, it's a booby trap and I'll get convicted of manslaughter if it ever goes off. Then again, it's one helluva deterrant. Kinda like sitting on the front porch on a sunny day cleaning a few guns. No one is stupid enough to steal from me.
