Default Emissions shops?

Does anyone know of emissions shops around arlington that will pass my car without a converter. I have a DC Sport Race header on my RSX-S. I do not have the original cat and need to pass emissions. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

cant pass without a converter. And also, do you think anyone here is dumb enough to give away their hookups on a public forum?

just passed emissions today at Centreville Tire and Auto next to Wachovia...i had recently failed so i went again this morning after having the CEL fixed and it passed....didnt have to pay a dime unless it goes pass 15 days in which you failed emissions.

they try to do that diagnostic bullshit check that costs 80 bucks....dont do that shit if you have a problem...

If the car is past 1996 then OBDII Diagnostics where they hook up to your ECU is how emissions will be tested. Even if you cheat the CEL code for no cats, any shop that does emissions testing correctly will do a visual check and see that no cat is there underneath the car.

You should change your exhaust system over to an aftermarket performance header that will allow for a Hi-Flow Cat. You will get the performance you want yet still pass emissions without having to find a shop that looks the other way while passing you.

I guess this is then a stupid question as well.

Took my car this morning (after finally getting it back to OBDII w/ no CELs) but now they say my car has an exhaust leak and they won't test it!

I guess that's by the book as well.

The question is if it's true that they will not test a car with an exhaust leak. The PITA is that it's probably not an easy fix since it seems to be coming from the turbo/manifold area and I don't feel like pulling it all off.

If I have to pull it off, it's coming off for good.

Can you check to make sure all the bolts are tight before pulling it all off?? Aftermarket exhaust manifolds/headers for years are notorious for coming with bolts that, over time, eventually loosen up and back out of their holes.
