it pisses me off more than anything when people bullshit about what they got and won't pop their hood. one guy we met up with last night had a red 92-95 hatch that was boosted, and he kept telling everyone it was a d16 with a saab homemade turbo, an fmu and stock injectors.

we ran up in maryland from a stop twice, and the first run i knew how full of shit he was. he just about pulled with me through 2nd and in third i put a car or two on him and held him off till 1/2 though fourth.

the second run he must've turned the boost up, cause i saw him lean over to the glove box and do somethin. he put half a car or so on me through third gear a started pulling in fourth till i let off cause the road split up ahead.

when we got back to the meeting point i asked him one more time to see under the hood and he refused, so i did what any honda tech would do: look under the car

he had a b-series oil pan and a half-shaft...which NO d-series engines have.

i called his bs and he got all pissy and was like "maybe i have aftermarket axles."
i just laughed. he didn't have to keep bs-ing me, and it pissed the shit outta him too that we all knew. if i didn't find out he had a b16 or b18 i would've been scratching my head for days thinking about how the hell i lost to a d16.

summary:

b18 or b16 turbo hatch vs. greddy d16 coupe

d16 won first race, b16 won second


btw: i had my gf in my car and almost full interior (minus the backs of the back seats)

i dunno...im into cars for a different reason thatn everyone else i guess. i just like to see what mods it takes to make a car perform the way it does.
i'd be interested to see what would make a d16 faster than what i already have; thats all.
im just not about the whole "who cares what you have" shit. if noone cared what you had than we'd all just buy cheap fast cars like 5.0's rather than taking slower cars like hondas and making them fast.

one more thing...don't tell me you have a d16 with a saab turbo. if you don't want anyone to know what you have, then don't say anything. just dont lie about some stupid shit like that.
