I was wondering which would be better for the snow up here during the winter. I was thinking about a WRX or a EVO. Let me know! If you have any other suggestions just post them.

u should be comparing sti and evo, not wrx to evo'

sti tranny has dccd which helps a lot in snow

wrx stock tires are better in snow than sti stock tires (all season vs summer performance).

if u dont want to pay 30,000 but still have the potential to make a monster of a car later on, get a wrx, they can be had for 21-22000.

As long as you got a reliable AWD platform, tires is what counts. No matter what you choose, make sure you get a Snow Tire that is V Rated, has at least a 50 series sidewall, and is wrapped around a durable rim. I have a set of Dunlop Winter Sport M3 V Rated Snow Tires that I use thruout the winter months, and I loved them. They were quiet, V Rated, handled great in dry conditions, and of course handled beautifully as well in the snow.

With that being said, just b/c you have AWD and snow tires, it doesn't mean that your God and can just do 80 MPH thru the snow out on the roads. You will still have to use a lot of caution and keep your speeds down to compensate for piss poor road conditions.
