Phone criteria:
- flip cover (I always hit buttons when my phone is in my pocket, so it needs to have the cover like most newer phones have)
- external antenna (learned my lesson with my Nokia)
- must be able to store more than 100 numbers
- color screen (just cuz it's cool; I don't need a built in camera though!)
- programmable / downloadable screen savers, ringtones, etc.
- can HEAR clearly all the time
- battery lasts long time


Service criteria:
- phone must work in all areas of NoVA/MD/DC (I'm tired of pain in the ass "temperamental" service)
- must be able to buy extended plan to have coverage in 757, NC, and NY
- phone must work in buildings; I hate being in a bar and my phone says "No Service"; yet there are 20 other people chatiing away on their phones. I've asked a bunch of strangers "who is your phone thru?"
- that's really it; I just want it to work all the time and everywhere I go.


What / who do you all use and how does it compare to my criteria?

 

i have at&t and i haven't had a problem yet...

sprint sucks ass but has tight phones

my homie has t-mobile and loves them to death

kathleen has verizon and that bitch gets good ass reception here in nova

don't get cingular, they suck balls

nextel....hmmmm...i dunno know bout that one...

 

I had to vote Other just to see the poll results. EVERYBODY in NoVA please vote; I need to get a new phone this week.

I have SunCom, which is AT&T up here. I hate them. I called and cancelled their service effective next week.

& Sprint = shitty service, cool phones

the problem with sprint is that you don't get receptions in various buildings and so forth and even in certain areas of nova (for example, in centreville, hence the reason i had to switch to at&t)

i say go with verizon...there's 2 phones i really like...the LG VX4400 and the SAMSUNG SCH-A530

 

I agree with eek, verizon by far has the best service up and down the east coast, you plan to travel a lot skywalker???

if you do, i would go with the at&t and there new mmode service, i have yet to have a problem with it, swithced over from nextel, nextel is aiight, but one good thing, is that they are improving on a daily basis...

sprint...no go, fuck em...

if you receive alot of calls, or have a lot of hommies with nextel, go with nextel, better bang for you buck..

only reason i went with at t is cause they had a unlmited plan with unlimited any time mins...since my phone is my business line, needed that, instead of paying out my ass everymonth for cell bills..
