Asian style chipolte coming to Dc - Banh Mi

DCist reports that Chipotle's hugely ballyhooed new Asian spin-off ShopHouse officially opens in Dupont Circle on Thursday, Sept. 15, with a menu offering two styles of entrees—bowls and banh mi (each priced around $7)—and your choice of proteins.
It's the first firm launch date after various vague reports pegging the official start of business anywhere from early this week to "within days."
The storefront remained shrouded in newspaper on Tuesday evening despite a reader tip earlier in the afternoon suggesting, "They were definitely open today."
While Y&H was unable to sample the already-heralded pork and chicken meatballs, I did manage to snap the above photo of the interior through a small hole in the papered storefront. (Eater DC has a similarly sneaky photo.) First impression: Looks a lot like the inside of a Chipotle—save for the noticeable rack of Sriracha bottles lining the right wall.

Nothing beats Julias Empanads at Dupont.
I could never pay $7 for bahn mi. . .I am w/ Stealthy. And, Bal Le has bomb ass spring rolls too. And shrimp crisps.

This could work where there is a low Asian presence. There are hoards of Asians and mom and pop shops selling Vietnamese sandwiches for $3-4 around the DC area. But if you were looking for a fancy and trendy place like PF Changs, why not?
