If you have a good driving record, you dont need a lawyer. Take a driving improvement class before the court date since usually the judge will make you do it anyways- and when it is court appointed, you don't get the extra point. During the trial, just explain how you messed up and are working towards improving your driving habits. Speak professionally like you are supposed to to a judge of law. Typically the judge will throw out the reckless, and give a standard speeding ticket charge. I've had a case in Fairfax County once where the judge threw out the reckless, and no speeding charges at all, but just a fine (it was hefty-$400).

Don't get his hopes up. Reckless Driving is a class 1 misdemeanor. Chances are he will loose his license, pay some fines and finally break in that 2012 Feeter he has.

OP is probably the typical 66 driver that ducks in an out of traffic really fast like he's been watching Fast N Furious, playing Need for Speed and listening to techno music all at the same time, then decides to jump in his car and prove to everyone how good of a driver he is and how much he's in a hurry.

Call this guy Frank 7036237303 charged me 500$... I had a reckless on the same road doing 83 on a 55. I got it dropped to an improper ticket and a 250 fine. I think it was also 1-2 points but it did not transfer to my MD record .

I thought the lawyer was good but he did not do much. I would recommend for you to go the court before your hearing and listen to some cases. There was people with no lawyers with worse counts of reckless and got their charge dropped to a regular speeding ticket no points. I was a bit pissed about that but at least i didn't get locked up for a day!!

I also got my speedometer collaborated and got it on paper that it was off by 5mph. Dropping my 83 to 78 ( improper).
