I'm at Mason.. On campus student apartments.. and I don't recommend being a commuter, but mainly for sociological reasons, oh yea and parking is a problem if you don't live on campus either.
If you commute the only thing you lose out on is a small room to live in and the potential of having a smelly roomate that doesn't clean up after himself.
