I'm at Mason.. On campus student apartments.. and I don't recommend being a commuter, but mainly for sociological reasons, oh yea and parking is a problem if you don't live on campus either.

Well mostly because commuters dont end up having much of a social life on campus unless they are in greek life or involved in athletics. Most commuters just come on campus, take their classes, then leave. Whereas if you are interested in a social life, you can meet alot more people livign on campus.. plus pull alot of ass =)

 

Some of us have significant others so pulling ass isn't an issue. As far as greek life goes, it just sounds like you paying a charter fee for friends. So essentially your are buying friends. Lastly as far as meeting people goes many commuters meet other commuters because of same situation or don't care for meeting or having a social life with some of the fools that attend there because we already have a social life outside of school. Plus who would want to live on campus if they can have a nice ass two bedroom (1100 sq ft) apartment you share with you woman that your parents pay for and it only takes less than 5 minutes to get to classes(like me, with ass on demand not having to worry about "pulling" in any).

So i would have to say "to each their own", in this conversion about commuter vs on campus.

 

I think this is my first time posting, been lurking for awhile now. But I have no clue what you are talking about. I go to Mason and commute. I find parking spaces quite easily, I park in K. Furthermore, I'm not sure what you mean by sociological reasons. I think you are trying to say that those that live off campus have it worse off socially, correct me if I am wrong? If that is what you are saying, I couldn't disagree with you more. Campus life offers nothing for many people. Personally, I have friends that go to other schools, with better party scenes, friends from work, as well as friends up on campus, and from everyday living. If you're 17 or 18 it might be great to live up on campus but after 21 it's much better living somewhere else.

If you commute the only thing you lose out on is a small room to live in and the potential of having a smelly roomate that doesn't clean up after himself.
