you got about 20 legitimate, non-asshole, empathetic responses from vadriven on a speeding thread

that's definitely worth the cost of the ticket, imo

in my noob dayz...i posted a thread about getting a speeding ticket...dragva at the time ripped me a new hole

^^^ Chances are because you probably didnt write it up good, or you probably deserved it. LOL

If i was for real going 75 i wouldnt have made this thread cause i know i would be screwed, looking at 3 months suspension of license, etc.

But i legitimately(sp) have a chance at maybe lowering this, i am just trying to see if i can go in there with a game plan.

Right now:

A. i am looking at trying to get my speedo' calibrated, old ass 90' civic DX thats running like shit, maybe it is off(old ass speed sensor). I hope that can help me out.

B. I may look into getting a lawyer, but at this point i dont know if its worth it, i mean i'd be looking at paying $500 just for him, and then the speeding fine which would come after they most likely lower it.

C. This is the option i am looking at with the combination of A. I will try to go to the judge and reason with him, on how YES i was speeding cause i was late for class like shit(last semester trying to get a good GPA so i can get a job lol), but i wasnt going anywhere near 75. The question is, how could i convince the judge of this, considering i know this cop is going to pull the whole 'experience' card (since he tried to get at me for me calling him out on possibly making a mistake on my speed).

I think the best i can do, is try to admit guilt to the judge in that i was speeding to class, but no way was i going 75*. LOL I drive i beat up 90' civic, and also maybe i can bitch about the cars going around me in the fast lane and why he didnt pull them over? Is that any good lol?

In situations like this, it might be easier to just eat the charges and fines and call it a day.

I've gotten 2 parking tickets on a car that I sold a long time ago. In order to fight them, I would've had to go to court. That means, taking a day off work and bringing my ass all the way to court to wait hours and hours to get slapped in the face. I didn't pay the ticket because I was pissed. They ended up deducting straight from my damn paycheck.

Be a man, let Fairfax county rape you like they do all of us.

Not necessarily, when I went to court for my pace ticket I asked the cop for his cruiser's speedo calibration sheet and it was 3mph off. Also had a certificate stating my speedo was off a few mph. Needless to say, the judge dismissed the ticket.

Hmmm..... so is he going to come in with his speedo calibration ready? So i can ask the judge to look at it for me? Or will the officer show me his?

And does anyone have any reccomendations on where i can get my car's speedo' calibrated to see how off it is?

You have to ask the cop if he has it. If he doesn't have it, you may be able to convince the judge to drop the ticket since the cop will have no way to prove that his speedo was working properly at the time. I wouldn't count on that, but its always possible.

Even if your speedo is off a few mph, I doubt you'll get the ticket dropped since the "alleged" speed is 20 over and judge will probably buy what the cop says. Its still worthwhile to go to court and see if you can get speed knocked a little since 10-19 over is a 4 point ticket where 20+ is 6 points.
