FS: The Green Meanie - $5,000
Name: Dan Hankin
Contact: PM or dan at octaneonline.com
What: 2003 Kawasaki ZRX1200R Eddie Lawson Replica
Mileage: 8,000
Price: $5,000
Condition: MINT
I hate to part with this beast, but it must go before it either a) gets me arrested or b) causes me to spontaneously combust from looking at it sit in the garage unridden. Circumstances restrict me from riding often enough.
I've only had it for a short while, but have enjoyed every opportunity I've had to ride it. The bike is very comfortable, and silly fast when you want it to be. It's not a real handful to ride if you're gentle with it, but when you get the itch to pull power wheelies or hit triple digit speeds before the next light it's more than happy to oblige. Kawasaki started with a mighty ZX11 motor for these bikes and added a little displacement. It makes approximately 130hp and enough torque to pull down a house (figuratively for you nitpickers). That's modern sportbike power and reliability without the "me too" factor of a cookie cutter sportbike.
It just barely turned 8,000 miles this week and won't likely go up much from there since I have NO time to ride right now. It has been adult owned since new. I'm the third owner. First owner was a middle-aged naval officer who sold the bike when he got transferred to Alaska with barely a thousand miles on it. Second owner was a middle-aged businessman, and I am quickly approaching middle-age myself (read: a wife, kids, and mortgage have initiated my instincts for self-preservation...hence, the bike isn't ridden all that hard). The bike is in MINT condition, never down, never raced, never abused.
Factory paint and finish is in perfect condition - pics don't do the metallic Kawi racing green justice. The '03s also have the grey/black stripe instead of the purple stripe of the older models - IMO much better looking. Mods include a Muzzys s/o (sounds great), K&N filter, Dynojet kit, Corbin seat (super comfy), clear tail light and integrated turn signals. It has a new inspection as well (4/09). Factory KYB adjustable suspension, etc.
Price is $5,000, but I will consider full or partial trade for a rear drive V8 domestic car in good condition - no projects (again, no time!).

Re: FS: The Green Meanie - $5,000
Got a pair of brand spankin' new Bridgestones I can throw in too. The tires on the bike are decent and just passed inspection, but I've got a new pair on deck...included with the bike.
