17k is not high. Maintain them well and these bikes will last as long as a car. Ive seen people on forums with over 60k on their sport bikes.

This is true.. 17k Miles is actually just breaking it in.

My 2005 has almost 19k miles on it and I have seen PLENTLY of bikes with 40-60k miles on them and still run like new.

Considering the year, 17.5k is quite high. I have an '08 GSXR 1000 with 3200 miles. Any bike over 12k that is under 3 years old is considered high mileage. Accordingly to KBB, the average on a sport bike is 3k per year.

Secondly, the majority of street (sport) bikes aren't "pampered" and rarely do I see one reach 30k with the original engine (no rebuild, replacement or repairs not included the usual maintenance).

That's quite hard to believe for: 1) A sport motorcycle & B) Original parts - engine and internals.

Dude.. Please GTFO..

If your averaging 3,000 miles a year your a bitch simple as that. Bikes are made to be riden.. I put 8,950 on my bike last year alone. Those 3,000 miles that KBB says are for "Fair Weather Riders" and are probably immature owners that do not really know how to handle/own a bike.. us "Year Round" riders sometimes depend on our bikes as a means of transportation and or fun weekend riding when we need it, so in turn we tend to take REALLY good care of our bikes so they are dependable.. I hope I have painted the picture enough for you to understand.

If you have a bike that is 3 years old, you better have over 12k miles on it or you should probably give the damn thing back or give it to someone who is going to ride it. Cowboy the fuck up and ride.

I ride for pleasure, not out of necessity.

ok well stop bitching about the so called "high mileage" you refer to, because to a "Fair Weather, Noob Rider" like yourself.. It will look like high mileage, this bike is a BEAUTY and WELL taken care of, I would pick it up in a heart beat if I was not strapped for cash.

Haha. You're quite a joke. I'm sorry that my motorcycle isn't my main or sole means of transportation and that my riding preferences don't please you. On a side note: I did mention the bike was in very good condition. That is one thing that we can agree on.
