DTP is also the shop that allowed Fat Nick's GTO with an air filter and muffler delete to make 392 rwhp... which he then bragged all over the place about. He then had it re-dyno'd on a dare/bet and the car made like 352... which was right where it should be.

Never said all dyno's were the same. There are several in the book with 480-540. Still not bad regardless. I am not one to brag either, thats why I dont benchtop race I do it for real. If you dont like the dyno sheet or shop dont look. Thanks
when the previous owner owned the car, and had it DYNO'd at Steen it made 490hp. But mods/tune have been made since then so.......the 549hp is highly possible. + this car in its early years made 650hp with a different pulley, but quickly was changed to make it more streetable at a 500hp mark.
haha, dont understand why everyone is trying to split hairs about the hp and dyno numbers...you all should know that different dynos will read higher or lower. The builder of the car included a then recent dyno of 510 to the wheels, with nice AFR's when Mike(redbrick) bought the car. As stated, it was previously making 650whp but the pulley was changed an it was retuned because it had severe traction problems.
I have personally seen this car dyno 490whp when Mike had it. Now it is re-tuned and making a bit more power, about 10% difference, and some of that could be attributed to a difference in dynos. Enough bs about the dyno numbers...
This car is balls out fast, and due to the fact you cant run anything more than about a 275 rear tire, not a 315 like you cobra/vette guys can run, any more HP is pointless, unless you just want a dyno queen or bragging rights.
I have a pretty quick lt4 powered volvo 740 wagon, with many performance mods...and this car will out accelerate, out handle and brake better than my car hands down. You aint gonna find a more beast sleeper for $9K.

I definitely wasn't trying to annoy people with questioning the horsepower, I was merely questioning making that power with 5psi which is what the ad said.
