FS: 88 LS1 RX7
I started this project about two years ago and got it on the road just over a year ago. Motor, tranny mounts and radiator came from Brian Hinson of www.hinsonsupercars.com. Engine is from a 2000 Pontiac Firebird, WS6. When pulled the motor had 62k miles on it, I have put about 2,000 miles on the car. During the install, I pulled front and rear subframes and meticulously cleaned them with a wire brush/wire wheel and repainted it all. Also cleaned and degreased the underside of the car while everything was out. Virtually all of the drivetrain parts (bolts, carriers, etc) were media blasted and look brand new.
Here are the details on the car.
Engine/Drivetrain
-2000 LS1 from a Pontiac Firebird WS6 w/ T56 6 Speed Tranny
-VATS & Skip shift features removed.
-Hinson Supercars Engine & Tranny Mounts, Radiator
-C4 Corvette Aluminum Driveshaft
-S4 TII Rear end (4.10)
-Custom Dual 2.5” exhaust, dual high flow catalytic converters intoX pipe into dual high flow mufflers. Work done by Todd at Economy Muffler in Ashland, VA.
-Stock exhaust manifold.
-Custom block off plates for AIR system.
-Wiring harness in engine bay was rerouted and extended through driver side fender
Steering/Suspension/Brakes
-Converted to five lug & four piston calipers.
-All four calipers rebuilt and painted.
-SS brake lines.
-Front & Rear subframes pulled out, cleaned, repainted.
-Fuel lines taken out, wire brushed and repainted.
-Car comes with power steering rack and manual rack (power rack currently installed.
-New outer tie rod ends
-Rear steer eliminator bushings
-JIC FLT A2 Coilovers w/ 1000 miles
Body/Chassis/Interior
-S5 Front & Rear Bumpers (S5 trim will come with car)
-S5 Fenders
-S5 interior (black)
-Power windows added.
-TII Hood
Wheels/Tires
-FD Rims with Hancook 245 Rear/225 Front
The Bad
-The blower for the A/C/Heat does not work. I picked one up at a local junkyard but could not get it to work. I didn’t put much time into it as the heater core and the a/c are not hooked up. I have the GM A/C compressor and lines which would come with the car.
-It needs a paint job. It is currently flat black, which looks good. All body panels are in very good shape.
Price
- $12,500obo
- Please no low ballers or haters. If you have ridden in or driven a v8 conversion and can speak knowledgeably, feel free. Otherwise, have a nice day.

Re: FS: 88 LS1 RX7
The last 3 are how it sits now with the exception of the TII hood and the suspension. It sits a little lower now. The interior is complete. Came from a S5 TII. It is very clean. I will get over to the garage tomorrow to take some pics.
