??? that sounds like a jdm gsr to me....room mate has the b18c and he ordered his as a jdm gsr.
always thought the itr was b18c5...

I'll try not to sound like a dick. You are correct in that the USDM Type R motor is the B18C5. The USDM GSR motor is the B18C1. Both the JDM Type R and the JDM GSR motors were tagged B18C but there were big differences in the cams, head, intake manifold, oil cooler (in most cases), throttle body, connecting rods, pistons, crankshaft, valves, etc. that made the JDM B18C SpecR motor a completely different animal. The most visible differences are the short straight runners on the R intake manifold in comparison to the dual stage manifold on the GSR and the PR3 badging on the head to denote that it is indeed a Type R and not a GSR.
