I'm taking the car to the Honda Dealership this Saturday to see why the "check engine" light is on - will keep you updated with the status of the car soon.

Just got back from Rosenthal Fairfax Honda. The reason the "check engine" light is lit is because the Idle Control Valve needs to be replaced. One of the technicians will have a new one installed under warranty next Saturday free of charge
