Re: Daytona Blue 1992 300zx Twin Turbo

Ha do you work in fredericksburg at new cars?? I started about 5 months ago...

Ok the car will be back from the turbo shop next weekend....first person with 10 gets it....9500 without the coilovers...the coils are brand new in original box...never installed them.

I'd like to sell the same weekend I get it back since I already have a car I'm looking at....sorry i don't want any trades...

I just took care of any maintenance you would need to do in the next 60k miles so this car is set for summer and many more seasons to come. I daily this car...if you go in gas saving mode and stay outta boost I've made it from staffers va to va beach and back on half a tank...that's 273 miles on half a tank not bad for a twin turbo v6....the turbos are fresh the motor is strong....upgrade injectors and intercoolers and,at 18 psi you can see 390-420 whp easily....last dyno was 330 on a fucked up turbo that was essentially locked up...I mean how many clean 300s have you seen for sale....almost none..I've taking care of this car like it was my child...

Re: Daytona Blue 1992 300zx Twin Turbo

don't you think the asking price is a little bit too much with stock fuel injectors? (old-school fuel injectors?)
and with the 120k pack service coming up too?
did you compression-test it?
sorry to be nosey.

Re: Daytona Blue 1992 300zx Twin Turbo

....I se what you mean....I thought I mentioned in ny post that the 120kit is already done....at 90k...timing belt all the drive belts water pump all been changed....with fresh turbos perfect compression all around....I think my asking price is reasonable considering know one ever pays asking price they always offer lower....I know your not interested bit come see the car in person listen to it drive it...the card solid for being 20 years old...all you need to do is upgrade injectors and intercoolers. I've been around these cars for sometime now...I work on them a lot and I plan on keeping in touch with the new owner since I'm very active in the z community

very good point.
do you have compression numbers?

ffrpwner 06-09-2011 03:45 PM

Re: Daytona Blue 1992 300zx Twin Turbo

From cylinder one to cylinder 6

170
169
168
170
169
166

Perfect compression in a tt motor is 174 all around bad compression is 136 and lower....so not bad for the age of the car

9500 next weekend takes it...

ffrpwner 06-10-2011 07:15 AM

Re: Daytona Blue 1992 300zx Twin Turbo

Just talked to my turbo guy whose working on the car should be ready early next week....he is expecting a 75 HP gain....one of the old turbos were locked up bit it still pushed 330 that should show how strong the motor is....so 400hp maybe a little les and spool up is quick...fun car that spins 3rd looks hot and is yours for 9500 do it!!

Do you have any video's of the exhaust. I bet it sounda amazing with the straight pipes.

ffrpwner 06-13-2011 04:17 PM

Re: Daytona Blue 1992 300zx Twin Turbo

Sorry I don't have videos right now of the exhaust but it sounds nasty and very drivable....

I need it gone by Wednesday next week...I'm buying a new car sooo offer me...bit 9k is the lowest I will go...its worth it the car is solid and I've done all the maintenance forgot to mention it has bigger rotors all around and upgraded front calipers also stainless steel brakelines....if you know anyone point them my way....

Car is in the final stages at the turbo shop...replacing more hoses and vacuum lines will everthings accessible...won't need to do anything to the car but gas and drive it

Oil changed every 3000 miles mobile one synthetic

Erik,

that's nice compression. It would help you sell if you show a pic of each cylinder you tested.

Also, the minimum compression on a TT is 120, not 136.

Good luck with sale man.

Re: Daytona Blue 1992 300zx Twin Turbo

The Car is back.

The old turbos dumped alot of oil into the exhaust so its still workig on burning that all off.
The new clutch hasnt bee adjusted yet so some times its a Pain in the ass to get into gear.

Last offer is....8500 tomorrow-thusday i can either get the clutch adjusted for you or just drop the price to 8300 and you take it as is...i just drove the car from Stuart va to stafford va...276 miles....not one problem...the smoke of course but other then that car runs smooth.....the break in period for everything is 500 miles....

tip on the smoke....if you want to take the time to do it...buy some degreeser....and spend a few hours pouring it in the exhaust(while the exhaust is off the car) it should get all the oil out...i would do it but i just spend 1-2k in the last 3 months doing all the maintence....the last thing im worried about is some excess oil burning

Re: Daytona Blue 1992 300zx Twin Turbo

8k firm...car has done 2 trips to virgina beach now....drives fine wont stall on you still blows some smoke due to the oil in the exhaust but its diminishing....

the car is stuck in saftey boost due to a bad knock sensor...needs a new one and to be replaced or bypassed...i will not bypass the sensor while the car is in my hands because it is dangerous to bypass....saftey boost is 6psi

Car runs fine...it gets me to work and it takes me on vacations...the only problem is that sensor and it doesnt affect day to day driving. I would fix it if it was causing a problem with drivability

Car will not be sold for under 8k

come out and drive it

Sound system(parts and labor)- 3k
Paint- 2500k
newer oem leather seats- 600
dps, tps, cat back-700
jwt ecu-700
rebuilt turbos-420

regular maintence including 120k service (done at 90k miles by previous owner couple weeks before i bought the car)

the car is perfect besides that damn sensor.

the only non beautiful part of the car is the engine bay since its dirty and the bay is still the original red. 8k is a good price for a running twin turbo especially for what ive done....buy it before i go out of time on wendesday.
