Some body damage? The entire front end is off (plus it has been repainted at least once)..... $500 would be reasonable for this car, esp. with the short nose crank motor

First the hood and front bumper need to be replaced. Second if its a $500.00 car then why email me and offer a $1000.00?
I saw you posted in a thread for a 1992 and offered a $1000.00.

Its a daily driver, that I put over 300 miles on alone this past weekend

Maybe you need to save up some more cash and stop trying to lowball people.

I don't appreciate it, or need it.

Don't for get that something is wrong with the drivers side, take a look at the door gap. The car has been wrecked more than once, even with the bad respray the rest of the car has had, the front fender doesn't match the door, before it was wrecked again.

That wasn't me, I'm not sure I would make an offer on your car

I actually offered $1200 if you paid attention to the add, but I guess details aren't important (plus notice that it is still for sale w/o any interest......).

I'm not trying to lowball anyone, just offering market value. I have owned over 20 Miata's (NA's only, except for my wife's NB )and work on them on the side as a hobby (plus a couple Spec Miata builds, including the one I race), but I guess you are correct, I have no idea what I am talking about......

Oh yeah, one more thing,

If someone offered you $1000 for it, I would take the money and run

why is the engine bay so dirty? 2200 is kinda up there for a miata with that much miles and condition...looks like it would make a good daily tho short nose or not

yes you are - lowballing I mean
and if you've owned 20 Miatas then you should know the shortnose crank is a non-issue if the timing belt changes have been done correctly
you should also be aware that the market for sub $1k Miatas has pretty much dried up in the last year

yes the guys price is probably too high
you've made you're offer now shut up about it and move on with your life

OP: reshoot the car pics with the doors shut tight and explain the accident, pricing is up to you

That's not true. I just bought one for $800 w/ a hardtop with close to the same damage than this one, but with 50k more miles. Also, with the short nose crank, it doesn't matter if the TB changes where done correctly or not, even if done correctly, it just prolongs until it happens. The quoted number of failures was 1% of Miata's suffered it, but has they have aged, the number has gone up significantly recently, it's just the way the nose of the crank is designed, it WILL fail.

How can I be lowballing him, I never made an offer All I said is that it looks like it has some serious issues and is a $500 car IMO. No offer was made

no the odds of an improper timing belt change go up with time, or odds the harmonic balancer dryrotting and vibrating the wodruff key loose go up with time
but if everything is maintained like its supposed to be it won't fail
now obviously the design could have been better but it's still no where near the killer issue of the 1.6 you think it is

and how many of those $800 deals do you see these day as compared to a year or 2 ago?
