Truly a one of a kind car...
This is a 1979 Dodge Omni that I purchased from the original owner. It had the 1.7l carb Volkswagen motor and 4 spd transmission in it when I purchased it. The owner loved this car, and drove it daily to work, and even garage kept it most of its life. It was his first car he ever bought, and he took great care of it.
Since I have owned the car, all that truly remains of the original is the body itself, and interior.
And so the mod list begins, and not to mention a stupid amount of man hours...
-2.4 turbo motor out of a 2003 PT cruiser
-5 Speed 520 tranny, Chromoly bearing plate, locked differential
-SPEC Stage 4 Clutch kit (new)
-SRT 4 intake manifold
-Tubular Stainless T3 Flange exhaust manifold with external wastegate (new)
-Turbonetics T3/T4 ball bearing Turbo, Stage-3 57mm
-Tial 38mm wastegate (new)
-Stainless 2.5" custom Downpipe
-Stock SRT 4 intercooler
-Custom intercooler piping with WRX BOV
-Megasquirt 2 Standalone Engine Management (new)
-850cc injectors (new)
-AEM Adjustable fuel pressure regulator (new)
-Walbro 255 fuel pump (new)
-Innovate LM-1 Wideband O2 sensor (new)
-2.5" catless exhaust all the way back to a Magnaflow muffler (new)
-Wheels/Springs/Brakes/Subframe/Rear axle is out of a '86 Shelby Charger
-New monroe struts and strut mounts on all corners
-New wheel bearings
-Poly suspension bushings
-Custom Motor mounts of course
-New Nitto tires
I am probably forgetting tons of stuff, please just contact me and I can talk your ear off with the storyline of this build. If I stated a part is new, that means I bought it new and has less than 500 miles on it. I just recently finished the build, and ironically enough I have to sell it after years of time and money into it. Right now the car is running 22 psi and using a stock SRT4 timing map, and rips ass down the road. Even with a locked diff, it still doesnt get full traction until 4th gear. I know this car can easily make over 400whp. It is a blast to drive, believe me.
I have probably $6000 in this car, and just want it to end up in someone's hands who will appreciate the rarity of the car/setup, and who will push this thing to its potential. I have no doubt it is a 10 second car with drag slicks. I would love to see it embarrassing countless, unsuspecting street cars on youtube, hahaha.
My name is Eric, I live in Virginia beach, Va, and need the car gone asap. Part of me can't believe I am selling it after all the work that has gone into it. But this thing called life, and the circumstances that come with it has taken priority.
Call me anytime, 757-477-4728. Further details and pics are available.
Thanks for looking...
