1998 Silverado 2500, ext. cab longbed, 2" drop, low mileage
Name: Justin
Location: VA Beach, Red Mill area
Means of contact: PM (don't just post in the thread, please)
Price: $3900
Description:
- 5.7L V8, automatic trans.
- It's a C2500, 2WD.
- 1245xx miles, will go up slightly as I drive it ~10 miles per day.
- 8 foot bed, extended cab
- Options: power windows/locks, cruise control, a/c, factory CD player, factory bed liner
- Had new front brakes done on 11/06/2012, and state inspection on 11/07/2012.
Mods:
- Flowmaster muffler, single pipe
- Belltech lowering kit, 2" front and 4" rear
The truck runs great, transmission shifts smoothly, A/C and heat both work great. Includes all maintenance receipts from the last ~10 years (long before I owned it). Solid truck, but I'm driving back and forth to DC quite often now for work, so I'm looking to switch to a compact car.
When I bought it, it had a west coast kind of style going on (bleh). I took off a lot of those parts and put on stock ones, so some extra parts will come with the truck if my asking price is met:
- All-metal cowl induction hood (no fiberglass)
- 17" Center Line alloy wheels with good tires
- Spare grill, painted white, with clear lighting
- Spare set of rear leaf springs for returning to stock height
Issues:
- Speedo reads ~30% high, and fuel gauge doesn't work. My solution was going to be, buy a used cluster from Ebay for ~$100 with similar mileage (there are hundreds available), roll the odometer forward to match, and replace the cluster. The dash panel pops right off so it's a quick job. Just hasn't been a priority so I haven't taken the time to buy the cluster and do it.
- Dent on passenger's door, you can see it in one of the pictures. A few small dings in the stock hood as well (though the cowl induction hood has no dents).
Pictures:
I'll consider trades, with the following criteria:
- Must be a compact or compact-ish car (Civic, Accord, Golf, Jetta, etc)
- 4-cylinder
- NO PROJECT CARS. If it's a half-done engine swap project or has the interior stripped out or something, I don't want it. Looking for a daily driver, with good gas mileage.
- The fewer mods, the better.
- I can't offer cash on top of a trade, but if you offer me a '93 Civic or something that's worth $2k at best, I'm going to expect cash to even things up.
Thanks for looking, guys.

Bump for flaky motherfuckers on Craigslist who propose a trade and then waste my time by not showing up on the day they suggested a whole week later.
