1998 Jeep XJ Cherokee, Hesco stroker, Dana "Super" 44, lots of goodies
actually, i've never done (nor needed) a SYE. it does get a light vibe just over 80, nothing before then. you can pull 3-4k no problem. i've pulled a two horse trailer with two horses in it, and i'm not kidding it does better than my father's 03 v8 tahoe. on hills, i strongly prefer the stroker torque. it's certainly capable of pulling more, but i'd prefer a strong and dependable trailer brake setup. my jeep does have a trailer brake controller mounted conventiently at the driver's right hand, just to the right of your right leg.

Nevermind.. You're in Suffolk. I must have you mixed up with another similar XJ. Very well built though! Exactly what I would have done to an XJ if money were no matter

ooops, sorry about the current miles. didn't notice that until just now. chassis/odometer have 386,000, engine has 165,000 and going STRONG. engine has most of any major component of drivetrain.
cross-drilled rotors help a lot with braking, and even more with life of pads. surprising how much difference they make, when broken in properly. rear end is heavy duty 33 spline axles in a dana 44, which you'll DEFINITELY want if you're towing that much. 4.10 gears in a detroit locker also chip in for the job.

gotcha. no, i'm not. i live in the peanut city, but made a few trips to the star city once upon a time.
but thanks for the bump anyway!

Maybe I'm mistaken, but aren't you a member of Star City Crawlers? I'm pretty sure I saw the Jeep for sale on the forum.

yeah, it was built when money didn't matter as much as it does now. but it was all well spent, translated into a very dependable rig with great reliability.
thanks again.
i think i forgot the quick disconnect front swaybar links. anybody here care to testify to inline 6 stroker engine power, if they've ever driven/experienced one?
looks like this one might be going out of state before too long. if you've been thinking about, dreaming about it... now's the time to act. you'll never stop thanking yourself for owning this jeep. it is the coolest thing i've ever driven.
thanks for the vote of confidence, itrsoon! last guy's financing fell through (couldn't make the downpayment) so she's available again.
