YC cops doin their job!
Today i took Green Lantern aka jhon stewart aka my bike out to DMV to see if their inspector was there (bike has to be inpected by the official DMV dude) and the nmom calls and begs me to stop by grafton middle to give my sis 7 bux for her field trip so i do. I then head directly home (my bike has no tags on it) and i notice a pale blue station wagon follow me that ive never seen in my neighborhood (not unusual but you know that 6th sense we all get) so anyways, i turn down my street and pull my bike up into my shed (dissapointed that the DMV says ill have to take the bike to P-town to get a DMV inspector) i run inside get outta my gear and hop into my buddies mustang (which i was borrowing) and as im starting it i see a YC squad car come down my road so i figure no big deal right, i pull out and before I can get outta my cul de sac another squad car turns down the road and blocks my path and hits his lights. i stop in the middle of the culdesac and the officer comes up to me and asks for my drivers license which ihappily fork over. he then asks why i dont have tags on my bike and of course i have a puzzled look on my face and then i notice the pale blu stationwagon behind the 2nd squad car. turns out it was the lieutenant of YC and he had seen the bike w/o tags and figured it stolen so he tailed me back and called 4 backup. i politely explain all the details of my bike including why it has no title and no VIN and show them all the reciepts for the new frame, etc etc the ask who i bought the bike from i tell them and i give them the original vin that matches the one on the motor and they run it and its clean. the lieutenant was VERY cool about everything ( he talked alot about harleys so i guess he rides too) asked me a couple of things about the bike and when everything checked out they thanked me for being so nice and coroporative and takin the time to take em to the bike and run over everything with em. turns out last night they had a chase on denbigh blvd with another green kawi that looked like mine with no tags ( what a coincidence! ) so they checked it out. I give a big
to the YC police dept. in my expierience they have always been the most courtieous/professional precinct ive encountered in the 757 next to the state troopers. it was altogether a 15 minute delay but it made me feel good knowing that they will go through the hassles of checking EVERY THING out on a bike to make sure its in the hands of the proper owner. the lieutenant even commended me on my riding skills
. so yeah, anyone got a truck or trailer and wanna help me get to the inspector so i can have my riiiide ready for the group ride? thanks for reading and next time you see a york county po-po give em' a whats up.

well i'm glad things went so well, and you've got a good attitude towards law enforcement... i hate it when people do something illegal on purpose and then get mad at the cops... i don't do 100 mph in school zones, but a large portion of the time i'm riding i'm probably doing something illegal, and if i ever get pulled over the only person i will be mad at is myself, its my job to be fully aware of the law and my decision to follow them or not, and the cops job to be there if i break them
and your right, if your bike got stolen, and you were the guy that stole it, it would be back in your posession now

glad to see nothing shitty came of that one tiki. first time a cop has not fucked with IV. things are changing i can feel it. i've never really had an issue with YC cops, and this is a great example...
